A Literary and Psychological Exploration of Friendship. Mickey Yudkin will be discussing friendship from a psychological standpoint with reference to the novel by Alexander McCall Smith; The Private Side of Friendship published in 2025.

Dates for the Diary
- The Drama Group will perform their Summer Show on Wednesday 15 July at 2pm in room 2.21
- Free Show at Hampstead Theatre Tuesday 14 July at 14.00
A script-in-hand reading of Living a new play by an up-and-coming writer. The performance will be staged in the main upstairs theatre, lasting 65 minutes, followed by a free drinks reception.
Synopsis Linda is in her seventies and grabbing life. She’s funny, feisty and quick to make fun of her anxious, slightly doddery, husband Roy. the Linda we see is one thing; the Linda Roy sees is very different. She’s had a major stroke and tomorrow, she goes into residential care. A tragicomedy about drifting apart, reconnecting and seeking adventure in the golden years.
Opportunity to take part
in a project celebrating the experiences and perspectives of older generations. People aged 70+ to share their stories and reflect on life, love, loss and everything in between.

Leslie Stukens’ funeral details
Gill, Leslie’s sister, extends a welcome to all U3A members who would like to attend. The funeral will be held at South Essex Crematorium, Ockendon Road, Upminster. RM14 2UY at14.20 on Monday 6 July.
