Class Details
The development of portraiture as a distinct genre was one of the most significant and exciting developments in Renaissance art. We will investigate the roots of this development, compare Northern and Italian styles of portraiture and consider their influence on one another. In the process, we shall encounter some of the key players in 15th and early 16th century history and discover the enduring legacy of Renaissance portraiture in subsequent centuries.
