CLASS NOTICES

From Naomi Propper: Writers’ Workshop

on Tuesdays 1.30pm to 3pm ZOOM ONLY. We are a small online group looking for new members as life events have led some of our group dropping out. We meet weekly to share our writing: memoirs, short-stories, poems, novels and creative non-fiction – any kind of writing and any length are welcome. As we are a small and friendly group, everyone gets an opportunity to read their work every week, or just listen if they prefer.

From Marvin Tomkinson

‘I am unable to attend the Tuesday 3rd December (11.40am) Italian class due to a hospital appointment but I look forward to seeing everyone on 10th of December, the last class of the term and my last day as a coordinator of that class.

From Brenda Greenberg: Country Dancing

We will hold a session on Tuesday the 17th December from 11.00 till 12.30. This is in the large upstairs room 2.21. We will also have a last Art session on December 20th 10.00 to 12.00 in the Art room downstairs.’

Other notices: Free concert

for U3A members on 9th December and discounted Brandenburg Christmas concert tickets and other concerts with a discount. The venue is Holborn Viaduct and EC3.

To make you smile

‘A library is a place where you can lose your innocence without losing your virginity.’ Germaine Greer

On a Miami to Chicago flight was a lively youngster who nearly drove everyone crazy. He was running up and down the aisle when the flight attendant started serving coffee. He ran smack into her, knocking a cup of coffee out of her hand and onto the floor. As he stood by watching her clean up the mess, she glanced up at the boy and said, ‘”Look, why don’t you go and play outside?” Eugene Carroll in Readers Digest, September 1955

Good wishes from Richard, Maureen, Gilli and Amalia
