VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE
If you need a wheelchair or evacuation chair to exit the building in an emergency, please contact the U3A Office or email healthandsafety@u3alondon.org.uk IMMEDIATELY. Thank you.
From U3A London Maintenance, U3A London Health and Safety and WAC Arts
The urgent maintenance work on the building’s heating system that commenced on November 4th will take at least three weeks. An underground gas pipe needs fixing.
We received an undertaking that as many heaters as necessary will be provided. Coordinators, please ask for one at reception.
During this period, the main entrance will be closed for safety reasons. Access will be redirected to the side entrance which leads to the Atrium, Art Block and all internal routes. We ask all building partners, clients, staff, and visitors to follow the
posted signage and use the temporary route. If you have specific requirements such as VIP visits, or need further information or assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Please re-familiarise yourself with the emergency evacuation routes. The areas affected by this maintenance only include the side parking, imperial staircase, and main entrance; alternative emergency routes will be available during this period.
Note that the side parking area will be designated for loading and unloading related to contractor work. You may, however, continue to use our rear parking area and the designated front disabled parking spaces.

Writers’ Workshop
on Tuesdays 1:30-3pm
We are a small online group looking for new members. We meet weekly to share our writing: memoirs, short-stories, poems, novels and creative non-fiction – any genre is welcome. As we are a friendly group, everyone gets an opportunity to read their work every week, or just listen if they prefer. We encourage one another, provide constructive feedback and help improve technique, overcome writers’ block and keep those creative juices flowing. Do join us!.’
