As June 21 approaches, it appears to be more problematic that all government-imposed restrictions will be lifted on that date. However, if the delay is only for a few weeks, this should not jeopardise our return to Belsize Park in September.
If you want to know what actions we are planning, please attend our A.G.M. on Monday, 28 June at 12, noon to get the earliest possible update. On the day, you will be given the link.
If you want to be involved with what will be happening, please give about 1 hour of your time to attend and speak if you feel the need to do so.
If you cannot attend, do not forget to either post me your proxy form or give me the right to use your vote by emailing me your consent to do so. Thank you to those who have already sent me their proxy vote.
Best wishes from Naomi.

From London Region of U3As
Could you please circulate this survey from the Future Lives Group of the U3A to your members? It’s looking at various aspects of ageing, in this case our housing requirements.
The Group is hoping to collect enough data to give a voice to the U3A in this debate but it’s also a useful checklist for the individual to assess their own needs in the future. Please encourage your members to take part.

The Lawyer
A lawyer, who had a wife and 12 children, needed to move because his rental agreementwas terminated by the owner, who wanted to reoccupy the home.
When he said he had 12 children, no one would rent a home to him because they felt that the children would destroy the place. He couldn’t say he had no children because he couldn’t lie (as we all know, lawyers cannot, and do not lie).
So he sent his wife for a walk to the cemetery with 11 of their kids and took the remaining one with him to see rental homes with the Estate Agent. He loved one of the homes and the price was right.
The agent asked:” How many children do you have?”
He answered: “Twelve.”
The agent asked, “Where are the others?”
The lawyer, with his best courtroom sad look, answered, “They’re in the cemetery with their mother.”
MORAL:
It’s not necessary to lie; one has only to choose the right words. Don’t forget – most politicians are lawyers….
And…..
A bookseller conducting a market survey asked a woman, “Which book has helpedyou most in your life?”The woman replied, “My husband’s cheque book!”
